All About Us

Boubird in Alps

Boubird Childcare established a base in Tignes in 2015. Nannies working in a ski resort, care for children who visit with their family, on holiday. Parents want peace of mind to explore the mountains and skiing. So it is fundamental that they can trust a nanny to care for their little ones. A nanny is a helping hand to parents. This includes organising some fun, engaging activities for children to keep them entertained, encouraging learning and development. Days are filled with a suitable amount of outdoor play, exploring the community and resort attractions. It is important that children get lots of physical activity, plenty of sunlight and fresh air but also time to rest in the warm and dry, taking a break from the sun with stimulating indoor activities such as arts and crafts, puzzles, games and reading. A nanny must ensure the children are comfortable. Preparing nutritious food and creating calm and sociable mealtimes. All babies and some children need to sleep during the day and will have their own routines for their naps and bedtimes. Ultimately, the role of the nanny is to create a memorable holiday for the children whilst working in partnership with parents.

How it works

Boubird nannies use the families accommodation as a base for the children to eat, sleep and escape unfavourable weather. But we like to be outside exploring the resort as much as possible. We are a pro-active team creating life-long memories for children in the snow Boubird Childcare tries to offer flexibility with timings and plans because we know that planning a ski holiday with children needs to be adjusable.

Becoming a ski nanny

Every ski nanny will have a clean criminal history certification, paediatric first aid training, a qualification relating to childcare and professional experience in sole care of children, with glowing references.  At the beginning of the season, each nanny has training to help them understand their role and responsibility. Training focuses on health and safety in the mountains, policies designed to safeguard nannies, children and families alongside risk assessments. A tour of the resorts best attractions starts to build ideas for days filled with fun.

Positive Relationships

Families are connected to nannies based on the children's age and the nanny's experience. We have excellent means of communication from the booking stages right to the end of the family's holiday. We believe effective communication is the key to creating continuity in care.
