A Boubird Nanny...

Hello, my name is Felicity and I am from Sussex, England. I first worked as a Boubird nanny in 2022 during my gap year. I am now a student at Newcastle university and returning to work in Tignes and Val d'Isere during my holidays. 

I am studying International Relations, with a particular interest in global experiences of childhood. Working with children has always been a great passion of mine, and I am very interested in social and educational policies. 

I began volunteering with children as a guide leader. This led to babysitting work, and I have since worked as a private, long-term nanny for a few different families. The ages of children I have cared for range from one years old to teenagers.  The training I received with Boubird Childcare in 2022 really shaped my understanding of childcare and working in partnership with parents and families. I have a UK Level 3 qualification in the children's workforce. 

Also as part of my gap year, I spent six months working in a nursery in South Africa. This was a community initiative which helped mothers to return to work. I really enjoyed working in a dedicated early years environment. Supporting children in need of the most assistance by helping to develop their social, emotional and physical potential. I also worked with babies in this role, which was very special.

I have attended Orchards Cookery school which taught me to be a great cook. I love creating healthy lunches, disguising vegetables, and baking delicious treats. On white out days in the Alps, my favourite activity is to cook/bake with the children. I also enjoy setting up art activities and pretend play 

On beautiful sunny days in the Alps, I enjoy meeting up with other nannies, introducing the children in our care and organising a big activity like a ball game or dancing.
